Why We Believe in Our Pilates Orientation, We Hope You Will Too

Get The Basics

You might be an experienced Plates practitioner or a dancer,  or even an athlete,  and think you want to jump into one of our Pilates classes.  Then be stumped why we require you to take one of our Pilates Orientations as a pre requisite to all of our Pilates group classes.  Read on to get to the core of our strong belief in this structured workout that will put you in the driver’s seat to your Pilates practice with us in Long Beach.

We offer our orientations a few days a week and you can find it on our schedule on our website under CLASS SCHEDULE.  Our orientation is about an hour and is a full workout so dress comfy and bring a water bottle.  We have Ice and filtered water in the back of the studio for you.

In our orientations we teach the basic principles of pilates and the fundamentals of our pilates classes.  Many studios now do not stand on the reformer nor do an exercise called Short Spine, but we remain true to the practice and guide our clients through these safely.  We maintain client safety by keeping our classes small with only 8 reformers to one instructor.  This great ratio helps us meet our clients on their fitness journeys in the most effective way.  Often clients need modified versions of an exercise, so with only 8 reformers in our Pilates classes in Long  Beach we are able to provide stellar and safe instruction.

During the orientation we break down the safety protocol for using the reformer, basic fundamentals or principles of Pilates and guide you through an essential workout.  Completing this class will give you the confidence to proceed into one of our regular classes and that is so important to us.  You feeling good about yourself is vital!

Making sure all clients have had a full orientation also keeps our regular classes progressing at challenging paces so all clients – newer and seasoned get a great workout.  So please be encouraged by our requirement of the orientation.  It is there for your safety and to meet customer service needs of all clients in all classes.  Our goal is happy client and we believe happy clients are getting great results physically and mentally from our classes.

Imagine being a newbie in a class of  clients that come in daily and you didn’t know how to change the springs or stand on the reformer?  Not only would it be mortifying for you, but it would also affect the pace of the class for the other clients.  You can see how that wouldn’t be a great experience for anyone, right?

We hope this information makes the requirement a huge plus because that is what it is all about to us..giving you a great experience in your first class with us and beyond!
